100% Potty trained!!!
We started in early September... with the "incentive" of only big girls without pull-ups get to ride the bus to pre-school! And, from that point on, Miss O was pretty darn focused on being able to wear her underwear fulltime!
She has been pretty much "there" for over a month - and I was cautiously conservative on calling it done... but after over a month with no major issues AND dry at night in underwear... I'm going to close the potty training chapter!
What a huge relief! Miss O was really thrilled when we returned her last unopened case of Pullups to Costco... she was so excited that she would get to pick out NEW underwear as well!
For a little girl who was considered seriously developmentally delayed - this is HUGE! She likes to tell me that "Owa no bebe - Owa biiiiigggg gul! No pullup Owa - Owa un-er-weir!"
And she is right! I am so very proud of her!!!

Are we there yet???????
The good news.....
Miss O has gone to preschool for a week - and worn underwear without any problems... at school or on the bus! She has not had any accidents while in underwear! She loves to wear her "pony pants" (My Little Pony underwear!) as well as her "tink-bell" underwear!
The not as good news...
Everytime I put her in a pull-up, which is nap time (learned the hard way!) and whenever we go to town to run errands, she decides to use the Pull-up and not say anything! UGH!
I'm not quite ready to brave her in underwear when we are more than... oh 30 seconds from a bathroom! My car is not ready for it either! I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that she can be 100% in underwear before her birthday in December!

"DID IT!" and Ukrainian Potty Training
"Mama!!! - O-wah pee, O-wah biiiigggg poo!"
one hour later
"Mama!! - O-wah me pee biigggg poddy! Did it Mama!!"
In November, 2006, we were told by the orphanage that our little girl was "potty trained"! Just for you of you out there that don't have the Ukrainian to English translation of "potty trained" handy.. I will share it with you!
Translation...... little child will (starting as soon as they can stand) sit on bowl (yep-literally a bowl or pot) and go pee at X time during the day and go Poo at X time during the day. They are considered "potty trained"! Hehe!
This is not realistic in any way shape or form! It is almost comical! Though the orphanage can dictate exactly WHEN the child is fed and HOW MUCH they are fed and then sit them on the bowl until the expected result is achieved... it does NOT mean that the child is potty trained!
We have been challenged with potty training for this little Princess since day one. Though we did not push it at first, with the new surroundings, new diet and schedule... we slowly worked back into it.
We have had about 4 days of pretty good success... meaning she has chosen to go on her own! Yesterday, we only had one instance when she didn't use the potty! Whoo-hooo we only used ONE Pull-up yesterday! So far, she has used the potty twice this morning - ON HER OWN!
