The piggies have arrived!

Well... from one thing to another! The boys picked out their piggies! We are having them do three instead of four this year, since they are also doing goats! Big Al has the two pigs, names Cookie and Speedy. Little J named his Twister. The goats have been a fun change! They are trying to figure out the pigs!

We've got GOATS!

This year, the boys decided to raise goats for 4H (as well as pigs!). We got three Boer goat crosses this morning! And they are absolutely ADORABLE! Little J will be raising two - their names are Mrs. Hall and Lady Baba. Big Al will be raising one - his name is Ocho Cinco. This should be a fun ride!!!!

Funny Fester!

Fester thinks the bird feeder is his personal place to stalk the birds! Too bad he has not figured out that the birds won't come any where close to there when he is perched up top!!

Miss O's new projects

Miss O got some baby chicks a couple of weeks ago... she is doing a great job taking care of them! I usually don't post any pics when they are so young, since the horrible black lab of a beast is pretty reliable at taking all the fun out of it!!! Miss O has had a great time and loves being the top "hen"!

Happy Easter!

We do things a little different during the Easter Holiday.
When I was a kid, the Easter Bunny left all kinds of clues on how to find my Easter Basket... it was like a treasure hunt!
Now that I am the parent... I have done the same thing for my kids... only I make it pretty hard! When you live on a farm, you've got alot of great places to hide clues! The other benefit is that they get a little bit of candy with each clue! We learned many years ago that Big Al will completely binge himself on candy and make himself sick!! We also use ALOT less candy!
The boys are old enough now that they have no problem finding all their clues and their basket - and it takes them a good 20-30 minutes! Miss O is getting much better at reading, yet still needs a little help!
Also, Miss O LOVES holidays!!! She was sooooo excited for the Easter Bunny!

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!!!
