Off to Ukraine!

The infamous Ukraine cell phone is off on another mission! This time - it is headed back to Kremenchuk with Elizabeth and Stacey from OBS (An Orphans Bright Star)! Stacey took the phone back with her two years ago and wanted to borrow it again!

Hopefully - I can post a picture here shortly of some of the great things they saw! You can get more information on OBS, by checking the sidebar on the right!!

And it's off once again!

Well... our Ukrainian cell phone made it back home safely (and successfully!) once again! It was returned by Staci and Damon who came home about a month ago with their new little boy! Thanks so much Staci for sending me the stacking doll for Miss O's collection!
I just mailed the phone off to the Bergman Family - who leaves in a few weeks to find their newest little one! The phone has been to Ukraine so many times and been through quite a few adoptions - too bad it can't share all that it has seen over the last few years!

Ukraine bound!

Well....
My fun update from the last week has been somehow "lost" on blogger! Gotta love computer problems!
I am sending out my infamous Ukraine cell phone to another UA family traveling next month! I decided that I need to start tracking its travels - just for fun!
Next week, the phone goes off to Staci and Damon - whose blog is listed down on the right. Hopefully, it will bring them good luck, as it has brought all the others who have used it! So far, it has been a lucky charm!

The hideous soup diet, and more!

The last two weeks have been pretty uneventful, so far that is! All the kids have been busy with school, Big A with wrestling (my least favorite sport!) and Little J overly concerned on when he gets to start another sport. Luckily for us, both boys decided NOT to do baseball this spring! WHAT A RELIEF! That would have been 5 days a week for practices and games! Sounds like they are both leaning towards swimming lessons, though it seems to change daily! I always get the thrill of reminding them that they can no longer choose baseball, as the registration closed! WOOO-HOOO!

Little O has been enjoying preschool, she is trying harder to say new words. She is still really delayed with it, but we seem to have our own language with her - so things are not so bad! She has decided that she would rather fall asleep after preschool in the car and take her nap earlier in the day, instead of later - works for me! As long as she naps, we are all happy!

The hubby and I started the "soup diet" last Monday. We were supposed to be able to lose 10-17 pounds in 7 days... Sunday is our last day! It has been a really hard diet to stick to - no yummy stuff! You have no idea how BAD I want soem french fries, or ice cream, or cookies, or... I better stop!

Edit: The Cell phone travels again! Carolyn is taking it with her to Kremenchuk and other areas in the Poltava region with OBS!

Appointment at SDA

We had our appointment at the SDA yesterday (turkey day!) It was for ONE hour only. We were shown 5 referrals - only 2 in our age range. It was a little disappointing... we saw 3 in our age range - but each had its own set of issues... girls are extremely hard to find in Ukraine. We are hoping to get permission today to travel to one of the southern regions to visit a little one... we won't post details until we have more!
We miss everyone very much and are coping - but home is sure looking good right now!
Alex is glad to be out of school! He can't STAND the fact that the TV is not in English! haha!
I got to say HI to little J last night - it was tough to hear his voice and not give him a hug...
We have jet lag - saw a monkey in a santa suit (got a family photo!) and have ate at McDonalds... We are sorta left on our own most the day - so we have been waling around a bit to try and get some ideas of things to do...
weather is foggy - but not too cold...
We will update maybe tomorrow!

Edit: We were shown referrals from Cherkasy, Luhans'k, Zhytomyr, Donets'k and Zaporizhzhya Regions
Cell phone made it to Kyiv and beyond!
