The fun of fifth grade

I truly wish things were easier in school for both my boys! Little J is now in 5th grade! He is an amazing reader and does well in science and most the time does well socially. Unfortunately, he struggles with self-management and math! Math is REALLY hard for him. While some things come really naturally... math does not! What is the worst for him right now is being able to manage himself with homework and daily tasks. He struggles when there are too many distractions and things to remember.
Hopefully, we can work on that - because if we can't, middle school will be a complete and utter disaster next year! ugh!

We are hoping that he can sign up for basketball this year. He has never formally done basketball, but it is something that he truly enjoys! Hopefully, he can keep his grades up and start to self manage better.

He does have a good (and strict) teacher - who can hopefully help him develop some better school skills!
