Let me tell you it was tough to get a decent picture with all the moving around!
Today was the first "official" day of the fair being open! Big Al arrived bright and early at 6am to get his piggies fed, watered and bathed! He had his very first competition at 10am... which was Market Hogs! This class the judge is looking only at the confirmation and attributes of the pig - not the handler (aka Big Al!) Unfortunately, Big Al was only able to show Charger - as both pigs were in the same class, and he could not show Wilber at the same time (a friend of his got that honor!) Big Al did an amazing job of showing his pig off for the judge and the judge made a point of acknowledging it! See the video...
Charger earned herself a blue ribbon and the "lucky" position of being sold at the Livestock auction tomorrow... Wilber earned a red ribbon and gets the priviledge of filling our freezer! Poor thing!
Big Al attended a judging clinic from 6-8pm and then called it a night (so did we!) and then made sure his piggies were all set for the night!
Another full day tomorrow!
Amy
